The Almanac-8 ranks the top eight teams in the Southwestern Indiana area, which for the first time covers the girls. The poll is released twice a month during the soccer season.
|
1
| (1) Memorial
| 10-0-2
| Memorial is #1 in both polls. C'mon, Tigers, give someone else a chance
| 2
| Washington
| 8-1-1
| No one has even been close to the Hatchets in their last seven outings (including a Hoosier Cup run). Washington keeps getting better and better as they look to repeat as Big 8 champs
| 3
| (16) North
| 8-1-1
| The Huskies are a bona fide team after winning their Hoosier Cup division too. They'll get another chance at Memorial come sectional time
| 4
| Castle
| 7-1-1
| Another local Hoosier Cup winner, it's surprising the Knights aren't ranked. Beat Memorial, and they will be.
| 5
| Mater Dei
| 8-3
| Winners of their Hoosier Cup division--that's right, 4 total--the Wildcats stumbled against west-side rivals Reitz who is always tough
| 6
| Heritage Hills
| 7-2
| The Patriots are in the drivers seat for the PAC at 2-0, but their losses hint they have troulbe hanging with the area's elite
| 7
| Jasper
| 7-5-1
| The Wildcats couldn't handle #16 North or Heritage Hills, but they now have to focus on Washington and the Big 8 race
| 8
| Gibson Southern
| 9-4
| The Titans nipped Forest Park for the first time since 2005 and is still alive in the PAC race
|
Also worth noting:
Reitz,
Princeton,
Bosse
