ALMANAC-8 Soccer Poll
Wednesday September 3, 2014

The Almanac-8 is a little late starting this year with the holiday break and us trying to get all the local scores. The Almanac-8
ranks the top eight teams in the Southwestern Indiana area. The poll is released twice a month during the soccer season.
|
1
| (#2AA) Memorial
| 2-0
| The Tigers start here by default, but there is a lot of season left to play.
| 2
| North
| 5-0-1
| Huskies are looking strong after winning the Hatchet Classic and their own tournament. It may be their best chance yet to
dethrone Memorial.
| 3
| (#12A) Gibson Southern
| 6-1
| The only blemish on the Titans record is a close loss to North. Look for a PAC title again this year.
| 4
| Jasper
| 3-1
| The Wildcats are ready to defend the Big 8 title, but they surely have post season glory in mind. (Their last sectional title was 2011)
| 5
| Washington
| 3-1
| The Hatchets are also in a hardware drought--no sectional since 2010 and no conference title since 2011--but don't be surprised if they get one
or both come October.
| 6
| Washington Catholic
| 5-0
| The Cardinals are starting hot as usual, but they'll be eager to go deeper in the Class A tourney
| 7
| Harrison
| 2-2
| The Warriors defeated Castle for the first time in a long time but were humbled by Gibson Southern.
| 8
| Castle
| 0-2
| The Kinghts are one of the few teams that could pull off a ranking without a win. Look for them to find a groove as the season
continues.

Also worth noting:
South Spencer,
Vincennes Rivet
