The Almanac-8 ranks the top eight teams in the Southwestern Indiana area. The poll is released twice a month during the soccer season.
|
1
| (#4AA) Memorial
| 12-1
| After a top-state ranking (later taken by a loss to Carmel) and SIAC and city hardware, what's left for Memorial to prove?
| 2
| (#16AA) Jasper
| 14-1
| It would be exciting to see the Wildcats rematch their only loss against Memorial. Can the Big 8 champs keep it
going headed into one of the toughest sectionals in the state?
| 3
| (#5A) Gibson Southern
| 14-1
| With another PAC title for the Titans, they can now focus on getting past a weaker Mater Dei and win the sectional.
| 4
| North
| 8-4-1
| A possible loss of focus for the Huskies (2-4 in the last six games), but with three of those defeats against ranked
teams they'll be battle ready for the tournament.
| 5
| (#16A) Washington Catholic
| 13-1-1
| The Cardinals have got to feel good about heading into the post-season. One more victory over Blue Chip rivals North
Knox and they can celebrate a fifth straight conference title.
| 6
| Washington
| 9-6-1
| After a drubbing from their conference rivals Jasper, the Hatchets have to improve to make it out of sectionals.
| 7
| Castle
| 4-6-4
| The Knights are crawling out of their hole, but rematching Jasper in the opening round of the tourney may
end their chance of returning to regionals.
| t8
| Northeast Dubois
| 11-3-1
| The Jeeps open against Wash. Catholic, so they'll have a chance to get revenge on their Blue Chip rivals.
| t8
| South Spencer
| 10-4
| The Rebels are on a hot streak winning five in a row, and they're 2nd in the PAC. Their season finale against
conference opponents Heritage Hills could likely preview a sectional showdown.
