Northern Indiana Playoff
From 1930 to 1962, the Northern Indiana High School Conference staged a playoff between its Eastern and Western Division champions.
After the 1962 season, several schools broke away to form the Northwestern Conference. From 1963 to 1965, those two conference champions played each other after the regular season. In 1966, the NWC began to have their own conference championship game, and the series was ended.
In 1969, several schools had left the NWC and formed what became the Lake Shore Conference. The playoff was resumed until 1972, when the IHSAA implemented a postseason tournament.
